Small Packages-A Christmas Story released on December 10th. It was like having Christmas morning when you are all sitting around the tree opening gifts all day. Oh, what a feeling. The sense of accomplishment and joy is inexplicable.

Here is the very first feedback from a reader:

*sobbing* oh that was wonderful!!!! the book had me laughing and crying!!!! My emotions were everywhere!!! Amazing story Franny!!!! ~ Jennifer Mears

Now if that doesn't make being an author worth every minute, I don't know what does. Thank you Ms Mears. You made my day.

Hugs and Happy Holidays

Thankful Giving

I have much to be thankful for. My health for one after many years of suffering, but writing has given me new purpose and I'm healing slowly, day by day.

On December 10th my first 'baby', romance novel SMALL PACKAGES-A CHRISTMAS STORY comes out. I can't even describe (and me being an author) the feelings of euphoria I have from the knowledge that after 7 years of working, learning, and growing, I finally have a beginning in sight.

Then, come April ( a day after my birthday we think) my grandson, Brock William Daniel will be born. I can't wait to hold him in my arms, smell his fresh baby scent (without chemical fragrances I hope) and share in my family's joy at his arrival.

Every day is thanksgiving to me.

Life as a writer is awesome...

Being a full time author has its perks, like being my own boss. I get to choose the hours, how long I work, can leave the house whenever I want, and even play with my dogs and cats.

The hubby will watch his sports and news while I click away at the keyboard, each in our own worlds. My characters keep me company even on the most quiet of days.

I love the silence around me. Living in a forest, away from traffic and such, I have the symphony of nature to keep me company. You just can't get better than that.

What makes you happy in your job?

Hugs

Forward, inch by inch...

As a multi-published paranormal romantic suspense/comedy and more author, I have a vivid imagination! Today I want to introduce you all to my characters from SMALL PACKAGES-A CHRISTMAS STORY that releases on December 10, 2009 from Red Rose Publishing.

"Paula, please introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your story."

Paula: "Hello, everyone, I'm Paula Winters, though my pen name is Paula Preston. I write romance novels. My beloved husband passed away a few years ago and now my two adult daughters are sending me on a Christmas cruise, though I'd rather stay home with my laptop and write. The last thing I plan on doing is meeting a man and having a shipboard fling."

"Thanks Paula. Now, Derek, please tell us your story."

Derek: "Thanks, Franny. I'm Derek Rawlins, a widower with a full grown son who practically forced me to go on this blasted cruise. I just want to immerse myself in my work. I have no interest in meeting a woman, period! I've had the love of my life and with her gone, I have no heart left to share."

"So sad. Well, I hope you two will meet someone on the cruise anyway. I hear a cruise can be a very romantic place to be."

Both characters laugh. Neither one believes they'll see anything more interesting than their laptops.

Hmmm, guess we'll have to find out when SMALL PACKAGES-A CHRISTMAS STORY comes out in December. Stay tuned for details.
